EPF is your retirement savings, not a cost you lose. It is split into Akaun Persaraan (75%), Akaun Sejahtera (15%) and Akaun Fleksibel (10%). See how it could grow with the EPF calculator.

Why your payslip may differ slightly

  • EPF, SOCSO and EIS use official contribution tables based on wage bands, so the exact ringgit amount can be a little different from a straight percentage.
  • PCB depends on the reliefs you declared to your employer (Form TP1) and on bonuses paid during the year.
  • Some employers contribute more than the minimum EPF rate.

Frequently asked questions

How much EPF is deducted from my salary?

Employees below 60 contribute 11% of monthly wages. Employers contribute 13% for wages up to RM5,000 and 12% above that. The official EPF schedule rounds contributions to the ringgit using wage bands, so your payslip may differ by a few ringgit.

How much is SOCSO and EIS?

For employees below 60, SOCSO is about 0.5% of wages and EIS about 0.2%, both capped at a wage ceiling of RM6,000. Employers pay about 1.75% for SOCSO and 0.2% for EIS.

How is PCB calculated?

PCB (monthly tax deduction) is set by LHDN's formula, which spreads your expected yearly tax across 12 months. This calculator estimates it by working out your yearly tax with basic reliefs and dividing by 12, so your employer's figure can differ slightly.

What if I am 60 or older?

Employees aged 60 and above no longer pay the employee EPF share, and the employer rate drops to 4%. They pay no SOCSO or EIS employee share, while the employer continues paying SOCSO employment injury coverage.
